Cheers! Bath Prosecco Festival Christmas special is heading to the city this December

If you’re a fizz fan, get ready for some seriously exciting news. Not only is the big, bubbly Bath Prosecco Festival coming to the city in just a few months, but it’s a Christmas special! 

Described by the organisers as ‘the UK’s biggest & most established drinks festival’, the Bath Prosecco Festival Christmas Special will pop up in the Bath Pavilion on Saturday 4th December. It’s part of a nationwide tour of Prosecco Festival events, including Manchester, Swansea, Newcastle, Kent, Milton Keynes and Devises. But lucky Bath is the only city on the list to be getting its own Christmas special. 

The over 18s event will boast the widest range of fizz by the glass you can find anywhere in the country, with everything from cava and Champagne to prosecco to pink fizz pouring on the day. There are over 50 types of sparkling wine to choose from, so make sure you pace yourself!

But it isn’t just fizz, as there will also be a delicious selection of fizzy cocktails, gins and flavoured gins to sample. And to line your stomach before all those bubbles, you can tuck into Italian-inspired street food, nibbles, snacks, hot food and other tasty treats. 

This is the perfect event to kick off Christmas in Bath, and you can expect lots of festive surprises along with live music and entertainment on the day. 

It’s especially good news considering that the Bath Christmas Market in its usual form will not be going ahead in 2021, with organisers blaming Brexit and the Covid-19 crisis for causing recruitment problems. But even though visitors and locals are disappointed, it’s great to know there are still fabulous festive events like this one to look forward to this Christmas!  

Planning your visit 

Tickets for the Bath Prosecco Festival Christmas Special are available to buy now from the organiser’s website. There are two sessions to choose from on Saturday 4th December: daytime from 12.30pm to 5pm, and evening from 6.30pm to 11pm. 

Tickets start at £15 plus booking fee, but there are also VIP area tickets starting from £36.50 plus booking fee (early bird offer). 

With your ticket, you’ll get a branded prosecco flute to keep, along with a free glass of fizz, a Little Book of Gin & Fizz and access to all event spaces apart from the VIP area. You can buy tokens on arrival to spend on your choice of sparkling wine, prosecco, gin, cocktails and much more. 

The event will be held at the spacious Bath Pavilion, a beautiful Edwardian building on North Parade Road. It’s in the centre of Bath, between Bath Rugby and Bath Cricket Grounds, and just a stone’s throw from many of our beautiful city centre holiday apartments.
