Oktoberfest comes to Bath this autumn!

4 August 2017

Fans of music, beer and all things Bavarian will be delighted to hear that not one but several special Oktoberfest events are coming to Bath this autumn!

Popular comedy and live events venue Komedia is one of the first to host its own celebration of the bratwurst, lederhosen and giant stein beer glass, but other venues such as The Bath Brew House and Electric Bear Brewing Co are also jumping on the Bavarian bandwagon. Here’s what’s on and when…

Oktoberfest Beer Festival and 4th birthday celebrations – The Bath Brew House

Thursday 28th to Saturday 30th September 2017

What better way to celebrate the fourth birthday of a Bath brewing institution than with an Oktoberfest bash? This rustic-chic pub on James Street West is offering a fantastic selection of craft beer on cask and keg, along with beer tasting, tap takeovers and lots more. Enjoy German-style grub, cake and live music all weekend long. Best of all, admission is free!

Oktoberfest Bavarian Beer Festival – Komedia

Friday 29th September 2017

For one night only, this innovative Bath comedy and entertainment venue will transform itself into a Bavarian bierkeller. Komedia is promising long tables, authentic German food, live music from an Oompah band, rousing singalongs and of course, plenty of fantastic beer. The organisers told the Bath Chronicle:

“Just like the original festival in Munich, we aim to make Oktoberfest an event for a variety of people, where beer enthusiasts, foodies and people looking for a great night out sit side-by-side on our long tables.”

You’ll have to fork out £10 for a ticket, but it promises to be an unmissable evening. You can also choose meal deal tickets for £16.50 each, or a VIP package (including food, reserved seating and a free beer) for £25.

Oktoberfest (part of The Great Bath Feast) – Electric Bear Brewing Co

Friday 6th October 2017

Excitingly, one of the many events planned for this year’s Great Bath Feast is a Bavarian-style knees-up at Electric Bear Brewing Co on Brassmill Lane, just outside of the city centre. The brewery has created a special range of small-batch brews just for the event, which will be accompanied by a veritable feast of currywurst, bratwurst, spiced potatoes and more. And the event is free entry!

Where to stay for Oktoberfest

If this year’s Oktoberfest events sound like your idea of heaven, start planning your visit to Bath now! Hot Bath, a centrally located Bath Holiday Rentals property, offers easy access to most city centre events. As an added bonus, it’s also right on the doorstep of the hugely popular Thermae Bath Spa.

However, we also have a huge choice of other fabulous properties dotted throughout the city. For visits to the Electric Bear Brewing Co, the closest options are the magnificent Royal Crescent Prospect or Monmouth Mews. Don’t leave it too late to secure your dream home-from-home while in Bath – Oktoberfest will be here before you know it!
