Everyone loves a secret and Bath has a penchant for them. Behind those tall, glittering Georgian windows are surprising spaces, extravagant proportions, unexpected views and indulgent follies.

This unexpected house within a house is a secret worth knowing. Tucked inside a handsome Georgian Terrace that flanks the famous Royal Crescent in the centre of Bath, is large, quiet and contemporary apartment that ranges over 3 floors, comfortably accommodating 4 people. The house has impressive period features and contemporary flair, resulting in a stylish, comfortable and welcoming home. It’s a great place to have a soiree of family and friends and indulge in some follies of your own.

The grand entrance leads down a broad staircase to the apartment below which begins slightly above garden level. A panelled entrance lobby is open to a lovely large kitchen/ diner on one side and a spacious, elegant living room with garden views on the other.

Rich gold draped curtains in the living room highlight the lofty ceiling and intricate cornicing. There is a large ’L’-shaped cream leather sofa and armchair in front of a huge decorative stone fireplace. For entertainment, there is a large smart TV with BT sports and also a DVD, and a panelled bookshelf with a radio, i-pod docking and a good selection of books and DVD’s. Steps lead up to French doors and a sun-deck that overlooks a pretty garden. The view takes in tidy allotments and mature beech trees of the Royal Victoria Park and in fine weather; you can watch hot-air balloons taking flight. There is an outdoor table and chairs to seat 4.

High ceilings, tall sash windows and another huge decorative stone fire-place feature in this fully fitted contemporary cream kitchen. Glamorous marble worktops and cupboards well stocked with desirable cookware and utensils will inspire your culinary inclinations. A central island has a 5 ring gas hob and there is a double oven, a microwave, a large fridge and separate freezer and a dishwasher. It is a great entertaining space, with a dining table and chairs to seat 6.

The smart, spacious master bedroom downstairs is at garden level with two sash windows with flower designed blinds. It has a super king leather bed with a TV built in. A wall of fitted wardrobes has plenty of drawers and hanging rails and there is a separate dressing table. The newly refurbished en-suite is tiled throughout and has a large shower with glass screen along with rainfall and hand held shower heads, a hand basin with storage over and WC.

Also at this level is a newly refurbished family bathroom with a bath, hand basin with storage below, w.c. and a fabulous large walk in shower complete with overhead rainfall shower, hand held shower and a mosaic tiled shower seat.

Down a flight of oak steps is the final double bedroom. It is very spacious with a 5' king-size bed, fitted wardrobes with plenty of shelves, drawers and hanging rails, a dressing table with mirror and lamp and TV. Two shuttered windows look into a small sealed courtyard complete with lights and plants and located below garden level.

It’s a short stroll to the shopping centre and there are many historic buildings, museums and galleries to explore nearby, as well as great restaurants, bars and cafes. It was the centre of fashionable life in 18th century Bath and an ideal location from which to explore today. You can enjoy a performance at the Theatre Royal, relax in the hot waters of the Thermae Spa, spend the evening at the Komedia, comedy club or participate in a number of music and literary festivals. The beautiful Royal Victoria Gardens has a fine botanical garden, covered tennis courts, crazy golf, a huge adventure park for children, hot air ballooning and a compact 18 hole golf course (The Approach Golf Course) with lovely views of Bath and the surrounding hills.

At the top of Marlborough Buildings is Marlborough Tavern, a gastro pub. Around the corner at St. James Square you’ll find good local amenities; a newsagents, chemists, deli, organic grocery store and florist. At Margaret’s buildings there are restaurants and gorgeous boutiques. The nearest supermarket is either Sainsbury's or else Waitrose in the city centre. Both about a ten minute walk. A permit is available for one car to be parked in a designated zone, alternatively, the bus or train station are a 15 minute walk.

A very nice property in a very nice location. Great size (it's big!), all the amenities you need and the cleanliness level was very good. Perfect for a quiet few days in Bath as we had as a couple, but also perfect for hosting a dinner party or using it as a base to go out in Bath with friends. We had a very nice time here and Alexa was very communicative and always available to help. We recommend Dough for a good pizza and Pintxo for Spanish tapas! The walk to town is 10min or so with sites and a nice Mexican for a drink and some nachos on the way. Street parking outside was available with the permit that came with the prioperty - so no issues there - though my car was scratched by someone. We'd still go again and recommend this property so book with confidence!

The property is located in a prime location with a lovely little pub at the end of the street and a short walk into the city centre. The property had everything we needed and was beautiful inside with a lovely private balcony overlooking the garden and allotments at the back! Would definitely recommend!!
