Hatfield house is on a slope and accommodation is arranged over two floors with bedrooms and garden below and living accommodation above with entrances at both levels.

The main entrance takes you straight into a spacious and cheerful country kitchen/ diner with original wide floorboards, fitted aqua green units and pretty mosaic tiles. In Pride of place is a vast range style cooker with a 6 ring hob and 2 ovens. A large picture window has lively views of the Kennet and Avon Canal, Camden Crescent on the Northern slopes and, Bathwick Hill to the South. There is plenty of cooking and kitchen equipment, alongside a nespresso coffee maker (supplied with coffee pods) and a digital radio, for relaxed mornings lingering over the papers. The kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher, large fridge and separate freezer, and a generous selection of seasonings along with some useful cookbooks. A large dining table seats up to 8 with a jolly selection of painted chairs.

The living room has glorious views of Bath city, featuring the Abbey, St Michael’s Church, The Empire buildings and Pulteney Bridge. This cosy room has an original cast iron fireplace stacked with logs to use on chilly evenings, a TV and DVD along with a good selection of books and films on alcove bookcases either side of the fire place. The furnishings are in fresh soft green linens, with a large sofa for 2, an armchair, a wide loveseat and a footstool.

At this level is a large family bathroom tiled in aqua green with a cast iron roll-top bath, a small corner shower, a hand basin and WC. Large original sash windows with working shutters overlook the garden.

Downstairs is light and spacious with a separate garden entrance. The main bedroom elegantly furnished in silver and green, has a 5’ king bed with two decorative chests of drawers on either side. Alcoves beside the window have shelves with a selection of novels, a hanging rail and storage shelf. An etched glass door leads to a compact, fully tiled wet room with a hand basin and WC at one end and a comfortable showering area at the other with a tiled shelf space for toiletries.

A large comfortable twin room in pale grey and orange with a big fluffy rug and armchair has two single 3’ beds which can zip together to become a 6’ super king bed, a chest of drawers, a writing bureau and an alcove with built in wardrobe providing plenty of hanging space. Two windows here have views into the garden and towards Widcombe as well as views of the city through the trees.

A pretty single room in soft grey and turquoise has a single 3’ bed with cast iron bed, a chest of drawers, digital radio, hanging rail and small bench with some storage under. A large window has bright views into the garden.

A utility cupboard at this level has a washing machine with plenty of shelf space for laundry and towels.

Outside is a large level family garden. Sunny and protected, it is a natural sun-trap, with a good sized lawn for games, a couple of sun loungers, a BBQ and an outdoor table and seating for 8 overlooking the canal.

You can pull up at the front of the property to unload and load but please be aware the lane up to the property is very narrow and it is difficult to turn around at the end if there are cars parked at the end. The nearest long stay car park is Avon Street Car Park, which is a 15 minute stroll away.

The local facilities in Widcombe Parade are very good and include a newsagent, chemist, coffee shop, hairdressers, florists, and several pubs, restaurants and Indian, Chinese and American takeaways. There is a convenience store only a minutes’ walk from the property at the start of Widcombe Parade. The footpath bridge after Widcombe parade takes you to the train station and the start of Bath high street where you will find numerous shops, restaurants, bars and Marks and Spencers for your food shop. The City has many historic sites and museums and galleries. Nearby National Trust owned Prior Park Gardens has a lovely walk to a palladium bridge, or explore rural footpaths across the hills above Widcombe for flower filled meadows, hidden churches, manor houses and stunning views of Bath - part of the Bath Skyline walk. The location was perfect, it was very close to the station and the city center but quiet at the same time. The house furniture, kitchen equipment and the garden was great
Hatfield House Elif - 2024-05-28
Lovely place and close to all amenities. Although not for people carrying large luggage or unable to walk up hills.
Hatfield House Katharine - 2022-10-16
We were extremely pleased with Hatfield House. Great location, within easy walking distance of the station and city centre but quiet and peaceful. Also easy to get to the canal and the Bath Skyline walk. The accommodation was well equipped and clean. Communication with Bath holiday rentals was good and the information pack provided very useful. The welcome pack was an unexpected bonus.
Hatfield House Janet - 2022-10-09
Hatfield house was the perfect home away from home in Bath! The house is very comfortable and well equipped. We couldn’t ask for anything more.

Hatfield House Benedict - 2022-09-11
The property is beautiful and in a great location. Very clean with a good garden and wonderful views across Bath. The parking situation (a common problem in Bath) was not ideal with multiple vehicles, but no other complaints all.
Hatfield House Chris - 2022-09-04
Beautiful house in a peaceful location and in a lovely quiet part of Bath. We enjoyed walking along the canal and it was only a 15 minute walk into the centre of Bath so a great location. The only slight disadvantage was not being able to park the car by the house but all in all we had a fantastic time.
Hatfield House Carol - 2022-08-08
Beautiful house, easy access to the city centre. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.
Hatfield House Avril - 2022-07-17
We found Hatfield House to be the perfect setting for a girlie weekend. It has a nice cosy feel to it, and all the amenities we wanted. Located within a 10am walk to all the main attractions in Bath, and also convenient to walk to and from the Bath Spa railway station. The Co-op store is also just a few minutes walk away. Highly recommend, and would definitely go again.
Hatfield House Hardika - 2022-04-04
Such a fantastic place, amazing location and super clean and comfy. The bottle of wine and snacks were also received well
Hatfield House Camille - 2022-03-28
This is a lovely property. We had a very comfortable stay over a working weekend in Bath. Communication from the management company before hand was excellent and a minor issue that we spotted on a arrival was dealt with before we got back that evening. Great touch to leave wine, milk, cereal and some treats too. It is about a 15 to 20 min walk out of the city centre but has plenty of amenities nearby. Would certainly stay here in a return trip.
Hatfield House Lauren - 2022-03-06
We are a group of four friends and we stayed here over the weekend, it was perfect! The house is absolutely stunning, full of character and charm. It is in a lovely quiet location within walking distance to the centre. The host has a convenient parking space around a 10 minute walk away which was very useful. There were lots of little touches left by the host which were an added bonus. The property is very well equipped and is a fantastic price too. The beds were also super comfy and everything was spotless. By far the most beautiful air bnb we’ve stayed in! Highly recommend!
Hatfield House Kirsten - 2021-09-07
A comfortable family home in a terrific location with beautiful views from every window.
Hatfield House Adele - 2020-08-22
The house is lovely, clean and in a great location. If you want to cook it's also well set up. The only thing I'd say is that it's quite compact so if you have young children be aware that you'll be able to hear everything! But our kids loved it - "the upside-down house" with bedrooms downstairs and living areas upstairs..
Hatfield House Greg - 2020-08-03
Alexa was very responsive. She is a thoughtful host who provided information about the area as well as wine, milk and coffee. The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. And we enjoyed the front garden and the fireplace.
Hatfield House Andrea - 2020-07-19
“A beautiful house, extremely accommodating host, very clean and with lovely extra touches, such as wine and chocolate. I would certainly stay here again. Thank you.”
Hatfield House Simone - 2019-11-17
“Alexa's place was perfect for our stay in Bath. The location is excellent and perfectly set up for 5 adults. The check-in process was very easy too. I would definitely recommend to others.”
Hatfield House Karen - 2019-09-08
A quaint historic 'Bath stone' house, very spacious and tastefully renovated. Fabulous views of the city. A very relaxing stay.
Hatfield House Anthony - 2019-08-28
We had such a lovely time in Bath - weather and city fabulous. And we all loved our wonderful base for the few days. The house was comfortable, room for all and well equipped. It really made our visit very special and we loved sitting outside after a busy day. And the parking place was much appreciated.
Hatfield House Deborah - 2019-07-29
Very charming and comfortable house with stunning views of Bath. Close to city life, canal, countryside. Quiet location with small garden and beautiful surroundings. Toppenbra accommodation.
Hatfield House Karle Family - 2019-07-23
“We had a wonderful weekend in Bath, the apartment is in a fantastic location, easy walking distance to town, it is stylishly decorated, clean and well equipped.”
Hatfield House Allison - 2019-07-11
“We stayed at Alexa’s place as a family with 2 children. Hatfield House was a perfect base to explore Bath. Everything was on hand & we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Special thanks for the welcome pack, it was a lovely touch.”
Hatfield House Alexa - 2019-04-15
“Lovely spacious house in great location for exploring Bath. We enjoyed sitting out in the private garden in the sunshine during the day, and in front of the cosy fire in the evening. All arrangements went very smoothly. Would highly recommend.”
Hatfield House Sarah - 2019-04-05
“Perfect base for exploring beautiful Bath. The house is spotlessly clean with excellent facilities. We really appreciated the complimentary extras thrown in - tea, coffee, cereal, milk, biscuits etc and, oh yes, and a bottle of wine, with which we toasted our good fortune at being there around the enormous socially welcoming farmhouse kitchen table.”
Hatfield House Jane - 2019-03-25
Lovely house with views in every direction.
We were traveling with 24 and 20 year old kids and everyone had their own space.
Handy local shops and easy walk into center of Bath. Really nice contact company and highly recommend this house
Hatfield House David - 2019-03-11
After viewing many properties in the Bath area, we finally decided on the Hatfield House because of its proximity to the city and its working fireplace! We were not disappointed. The house is located in the perfect location with quintessential English views over the city. We loved being able to walk into Bath and then come back to the quiet house. All the amenities were perfect, with a lovely kitchen. And, the clawfoot tub in the upstairs bath is delightful. As others have stated, the parking down the lane can be tricky if you have a bigger car or are not accustomed to driving in tight spaces. That said, we always had a parking space there. The bedrooms are downstairs, allowing the views to be taken advantage of in the upper living area. The living room is cozy, fireplace wonderful (with wood included!), and the bedrooms all great size. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. We also took advantage of the recommended catering delivery and it was excellent. Alexa and her team were very easy to work with!
Hatfield House Charles - 2018-12-28
Great location and lovely property. Comfy beds, lovely linens. Great host and quick response from booking. Would recommend.
Hatfield House Jo - 2018-12-20
“We had a lovely stay in Hatfield House. The house has lots of beautiful natural light and amazing views of Bath. The quiet street made for a relaxing stay. There were 5 of us, and the house was the perfect size. The garden would have been lovely if we’d had the weather for it. We were also very grateful that the hosts left some kitchen necessities, such as milk and coffee (and wine!), for us. Everything was clean, comfortable and attractive. When we arrived we were a little confused whether we had the right place or not, since you come up to the back of the house. The front door is down a narrow path to the side and marked 18a (rather than the house name or 18 as on the booking). A tip if you’d like to eat at one of the recommended restaurants nearby... we tried to make a booking on the day and they were fully booked for the weekend, so book ahead!”
Hatfield House Mariah - 2018-09-07
We really enjoyed our 5 day stay here. Good location in the Village of Widcombe. Easy walk to all Bath attractions plus bonus of the charm of Widcombe itself. The house was comfortable and well stocked. We appreciated the extras-coffee, milk, granolas, cookies, etc. - left for us. The managers/owner were always available and very helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Hatfield House Janis S - 2018-07-20
*****
This property worked well for four adults and two children (one, an infant). The views were impressive; there was a nice fenced in yard for the children; the kitchen was big enough for everyone, plus a few guests. In addition, Widcombe has some very nice restaurants and cafes - and Bath central is only a short walk away.
Hatfield House Renee - 2018-07-03
***** Excellent all round. Lovely property, fantastic location with everything we needed.
Hatfield House Solange - 2018-06-14
Very nice and convenient house with garden in Bath. Very close to the train station, 10 minutes ride to Bristol. Nice walks along the canal and in the area. Good restaurant, the white hart right down the road. We had a great stay and recommend the Hatfield house!!!!
Hatfield House Sibylle - 2018-06-06
We had a fantastic stay - the house is light, airy, well- appointed and in a superb location. We loved being so close to the City but yet slightly outside the hustle and bustle, with easy access to country walks as well as the City, Prior Park Gardens and the canal. We would like to book again for next year and will be in touch shortly!
Hatfield House Simon - 2018-05-31
We had a wonderful time and may be back next year. Thanks so much for a truly memorable holiday.
Hatfield House Al - 2017-08-04
Great company with straight forward booking process and good communication. Check in was easy and welcome pack is a really nice touch. Hatfield house was beautiful in a great location. Spacious house, perfect for the 4 of us (should have been 5 which would have been fine too!) Decor, cleanliness and facilities in the house were all 10 out of 10. Will be staying next time we visit Bath!
Hatfield House Christina - 2017-07-17
The house was beautiful and in a really convenient location. Less than 10 minutes walk from the city centre but lovely and peacful. Picking up the keys was really smooth and there was good communication with Bath Holiday rentals.
Hatfield House Liz - 2017-05-08
"Wonderfully peaceful and restful stay. Thank you, Alexa and Marcus, for your quick and responsive communication, easy check-in and check-out, and lovely hospitality. Looking forward to another holiday in historical Bath."
Hatfield House Rosie - 2017-03-09
We very much enjoyed our stay at Hatfield House. A pleasant 20 minute walk into town via the 'green bridge' and the railway station.

We had a slight problem with the central heating controller, but a phone call to your office resolved that.

We did leave a note regarding a protruding nail in the kitchen floor, so hopefully you saw that.
Hatfield House David - 2016-12-11
We were extremely pleased with our week's holiday at Hatfield House - a perfect location just a short walk from the centre of Bath, yet set in a beautiful and quiet location. We had a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend this property and Bath Holiday Rentals.
Hatfield House Stef - 2016-11-07
We had a wonderful weekend break in Hatfield House last weekend. What a lovely property, and such great views too! The welcome pack was a lovely touch, as well as the very informative file full of information.
Hatfield House Alix - 2016-06-17
We were lucky to get the chance to stay in this delightful and characterful house with our two teenagers in November/December 2015. It’s a fantastic place, just 5/10 minutes’ walk from the centre, yet with a real ‘hidden away’ feel about it. It felt like a real home from home. We were sad to leave, and these were some of the things that we loved: The views are quite spectacular. The house is arranged with the bedrooms downstairs, and the kitchen and living room on the upper floor to capitalise on this. The living room and kitchen look out onto the picturesque canal just below, and then across the city to Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge. It was lovely just sitting and watching the boats on the canal, and the city of Bath from the armchair in the lounge! It’s a really comfortable and stylish house, beautifully decorated in F&B shades. We loved having an open fire to cosy up in front of, and have all perfected our fire making technique! The kitchen is a true chef’s kitchen – a huge cooker, and very well stocked with good quality crockery, pots and pans etc, including a selection of cookery books for inspiration. The ensuite shower room in the undercroft in the master bedroom was very chic! There’s a lovely garden – too chilly by far when we stayed, but it would be great to sit out there on a summer’s day. There are shops/cafes and gastro pubs in Widcombe 3 minutes’ walk away – and then another 5 minutes across the bridge to the railway and you are in the Southgate centre of Bath. Our teenagers especially loved being so close to town. The neighbours are all really friendly
The only downside was the parking – which is quite tricky as the lane is narrow and turning can be difficult. We nearly always managed to find a space to park right by the house though, and we have quite a small car which made life easier. There is also an allocated parking space further up Widcombe hill – a bit of a walk, but exercise is a good thing – and the house and lovely views more than made up for it!

This is a new property as of mid Nov 2015 so it awaits its first testimonial.
