The best dog-friendly pubs and restaurants in Bath

Ed Roberts 16 July 2025

A trip to Bath may confuse your dog. When the word bath is uttered at home, they usually make a run for it, don’t they? In this case, they’ll need reassuring that they aren’t about to get a thorough wash. On the contrary, your dog will love a trip to Bath to explore some of the best dog-friendly pubs the city has to offer. There’s often food involved!

A dog-friendly pub is an important feature of most holidays, and whilst some establishments welcome dogs, are they truly suitable? We think a dog-friendly pub should have lots of room for your pets to sprawl on the floor. We’d also suggest that in cooler months, a fireplace is a great addition, and by contrast, in the summertime, a shady part of a beer garden with lots of water bowls around is key. Most of all, and we’d say this is number one, friendly staff with jars of treats on the bar is a special touch! Bath has plenty of pubs that fit this profile.

We’ve compiled a succinct guide of our favourite dog-friendly pubs in Bath, all of which are in the city centre and within walking distance of its top visitor attractions. Let’s go!
