A lovely two-storey property on a quiet residential street in the centre of Georgian Bath, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site, is ideal for couples or families looking for a peaceful holiday. The stylish decor and thoughtful furnishings ensure a superior feel for an unforgettable stay. Many of the main attractions of Bath are within a half-mile walk, including the theatre, Roman Baths, Jane Austen Museum and the famous Pulteney Bridge. Nearby Willsbridge Valley (7.5 miles) offers a pretty walk through the woods and valley to the mill.

Enter this splendid property via two steps at the front door, and immediately, the soothing natural hues will help you unwind. You’ll find the lounge/dining area and the kitchen on the ground floor. Relax on the sofa or the plush armchair and enjoy reading, chatting or watching a favourite movie on the TV. An oak wood flooring and pretty lamps add plenty of charm to this space. There is a dining area to one side of the sitting area close to the window. A compact kitchen with everything you need to rustle up a late brunch or romantic dinner completes the ground floor of this chic city apartment. Upstairs is a contemporary bathroom and two bedrooms - one super-king-size bedroom and one single. You can access the rear via French doors. Although there is nowhere to sit outside, the pretty Royal Victoria Park is less than 300 metres away. Private parking is available but is restricted in size and unsuitable for large SUVs.

It is possible to reach the southern edge of the Cotswolds from Bath and Castle Combe (14 miles), with its pretty medieval market square and access to walks along The Fosse Way is a must-visit. For those who enjoy discovering historic houses and gardens, there are three great choices within 20 miles - Farleigh Hungerford Castle, Lacock Abbey and Longleat House. Alternatively, spend the day in the pretty woodland setting of nearby Greyfields Woods (10.5 miles).

We have stayed in this property several times, and are always pleased with how clean it is. The location is excellent for walking into Bath - near enough, but in a quiet area and with off street parking. If we've had any problems, the maintenance team are always quick to respond and sort things out. We will definitely be staying again as we are reRead moregular visitors to Bath. Hide

This was a disappointment for many reasons. The freezer did not work, we put food in it on arrival and when we went to use It the next day it had thawed, we had to throw food away. We were also not able to follow government health advice e in the heat wave by freezing water and putting in front of a fan. When we reported it we were told this was a Read moreknown issue and it was to be replaced after our stay, they apologised for not telling us and asked if it was essential. They did give us a table top freezer when we said it was. The general cleanliness was poor, with the furniture and rug having ground in dirt, it needs a good deep clean. There was mould in the shower area, and the free standing toilet role holder had layers of sticky dirt on it, it had not been cleaned for months. The shower taps leaked. There was yellow staining around the toilet. The whole place was looking tired for example the under sink cabinet was old and water damaged in that it had swollen and delaminated. There were ants in the lounge and kitchen all over the worktop, when we mentioned this we were given some spray which if used on the worktop would have contaminated our food. We do have photos of all these issues on request This was in no way worth the money we paid. Hide

We regularly stay at 2 River Street Mews usually twice a year for a week at a time and call it our home from home. It is very comfortable, has excellent facilities and is only a short walk from so many of Bath's great places! We couldn't wish for anything better!

The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. Major selling point for Bath is there is a dedicated parking space which is a massive bonus for such a central location. Loads of bars, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. We have stayed in this mews cottage four times and will definitely return.

Damage deposit return was returned 18 days after we check out. I made several calls, spoke to Peter, and a Manager at HC. I was sent an email asking where the money was to be refunded to. It was refunded to a different place. The HC customer service was NOT good. It left a negative experience, HC, not the rental itself. The cottage was very good. Having returned to this property twice each year over many years now, we will no doubt be back again soon! It is a very comfortable mews house in a superb setting with easy access to the many superb amenities of Bath. Having parking for a small car is an essential for us and a welcome bonus.
