Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park unveils new Drive & Dine Theatre at Bath Racecourse

3 July 2020

A brand new drive-in cinema is coming to Bath this summer, to replace the Pub in the Park foodie festival which was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge and his team, who were behind the Pub in the Park plans, have unveiled exciting new plans for a fabulous Drive & Dine Theatre at Bath Racecourse. There are movie and food events planned for 7-12th July 2020, along with Drive & Dine experiences at Luton, Chichester, Henley, Warwick and various other UK locations.

How will it work?

The new Drive & Dine concept has been designed with social distancing in mind. Guests will enjoy blockbuster movies and delicious food all from the comfort and safety of their cars. Film screenings for Bath will include Aladdin, Jaws, Sonic the Hedgehog, Le Mans 66, Mamma Mia, Knives Out, The BFG, Back to the Future III, Grease and 1917.

Kerridge and his team have come up with a carefully curated menu of amazing dishes, which will be delivered right to your parking bay while you enjoy the film. Take your pick from five bean chilli vegan burrito or a maple-cured bacon cheeseburger, to name just a couple of the cinema-friendly selections from the menu. There will also be desserts, drinks and picnic boxes for all ages.

The Drive & Dine Theatre also promises the world’s biggest HD LED screen, a bold claim indeed.

Speaking to Somerset Live, Kerridge enthused:

“I am so excited to announce a great new event created to have a load of fun in a way that is safely suited to current times.

“Come and eat some good grub, catch some quality movies, and make some new memories with your loved ones.

“It’s the perfect trip out of the house!”

There will even be the chance to enjoy comedy from Bristolian comedian Mark Watson, who will be performing exclusive stand-up sessions. Book in for the first ever Mark Watson’s Carpool Comedy Club on Friday 10th July and watch Watson and fellow comedians Shappi Khorsandi, Ed Byrne and Ed Gamble on the enormous HD LED screen and your own personal speaker system. Again, it’s all from the comfort of your car with minimal in-person contact with anyone else.

Where to buy your tickets

Tickets start from £17.50 for adults and £5.50 for children aged 3 to 15 years. Children under 3 go free. There will be multiple screenings on most days between 7th-12th July, with matinee screenings slightly cheaper for children.

Tickets are on sale now, but they’re expected to be super popular so you’d better act fast if you want to get your hands on some. To book, head to the Drive & Dine Theatre website.

Bath Racecourse is just over 10 minutes’ drive from the city centre, including a huge number of our elegant Bath Holiday Rentals properties.
