BeerCraft Bath

Local focus: BeerCraft of Bath

25 November 2019

Bath is bursting with fabulous independent businesses, and we’re on a mission to find out all about them. Next up is BeerCraft of Bath, a dedicated beer shop near Pulteney Bridge stocking over 500 craft beers, many of which are made by talented local producers.

A taproom, bar and bottle shop in Bath city centre

BeerCraft Bath isn’t just a place to buy amazing beer – it’s also a brilliant place to drink amazing beer! If you’re visiting Bath for the first time, make sure to swing by to enjoy one of the many beers they have on tap.

You can sip in-store with friends, stock up your fridge with bottles or cans, and even fill up a growler (a large bottle for take-out beer, for non-aficionados) to enjoy later.

The BeerCraft Facebook page is a great place to find out what’s currently pouring ahead of your visit. At the time of writing, the following are all on the on-tap beer list:

  • Werrrd Up! American IPA from Electric Bear Brewing Co (Bath)
  • WEAPON X – New England IPA from Amundsen Bryggeri (Oslo)
  • Irish Cream Stout from New Bristol Brewery (Bristol).

Of course, the line-up changes all the time, so it’s always worth popping in to see what’s new. There are also ciders to sample, plus Belgian beers, craft beer cans and even seasonal specials such as mulled cider with a dash of brandy. Sounds delicious!

What breweries does it stock?

This much-loved craft beer shop in Bath is where you’ll find the most interesting beers from established and up-and-coming breweries around the world. However, there’s also a big focus on local producers at BeerCraft. They’re big supporters of Bath Ales, Electric Bear Brewing Co, Dawkins Bristol Beers, Left Handed Giant, Arbor Ales, Moor Brewing Co and others from the Bath and Bristol area.

But you’ll also find beers stocked by exciting European and international independent breweries, such as Garage Beer from Barcelona and Yeastie Boys from New Zealand.

Planning your visit

Whether you’re nipping in for a drink or on the hunt for a beery gift pack, you’ll love this quirky and eclectic shop that’s absolutely packed to the rafters with top beer. The staff are friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and of course, very passionate about good local beer.

BeerCraft is in the perfect location on Argyle Street, just off the iconic Pulteney Bridge – a must-visit if you’re doing the tourist thing and hitting all the city’s best landmarks. The shop is open 7 days a week and there’s even some limited short-term parking available nearby. It’s easy to reach on foot though, as it’s only a 10-minute walk from Bath Spa rail station.

And for the very lucky people staying at our Argyle Retreat, Pulteney Bridge View or Argyle Upon Avon holiday apartments, BeerCraft Bath is right on your doorstep – literally! You can make it your new local during your visit, or take home your choice of delicious beers to enjoy from the comfort of your apartment.
