Bath Jazz Weekend

Widcombe Social Club – Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th January 

Snap up tickets to see internationally renowned jazz musicians including Iain Ballamy, Robert Mitchell, Joanna MacGregor and many more at the second ever Bath Jazz Weekend. The festival, held at the new Widcombe Social Club next to the canal, is family friendly too – with free entry for under 11s and discounted prices for under 25s. 

Bath Rugby vs Harlequins

Bath Rugby – Friday 10th January

If you’re a rugby fan, don’t miss the home team taking on Harlequins in the group stages of the European Rugby Champions Cup. Kick off is at 7.45pm.

Bath Skyline 10km Night Race

Bath Skyline – Saturday 11th January

Blow off those Christmas cobwebs with a thrilling, invigorating race along the famous Bath Skyline course, a 6-mile route managed by the National Trust. With the way ahead illuminated with glow in the dark markings, runners will enjoy amazing views over the city of Bath, as well as Sham Castle and Solsbury Hill, as they race for a medal. It all starts at 6pm at the University of Bath – register in advance and make sure you bring a headtorch!

Green Park Saturday Market

Green Park Station – Saturday 18th January

If you haven’t yet been to this much-loved market, make it number one on your list of things to do in Bath in January 2020. Open from 9am until 4pm, Green Park Market runs alongside the Bath Farmer’s Market and offers a huge choice of fresh produce, handmade goods and unusual treasures. Go along for a browse!  

Circus of Horrors

The Bath Pavilion – Sunday 19th January

Take the chance to see an astounding, rock-and-roll soundtracked circus show like no other – one that has been running for an incredible 25 years. Circus of Horrors boasts a fabulous cast of talented performers, delivering some of the most bizarre, jaw-dropping and beautiful acts every seen on the stage of the magnificent Bath Pavilion. 

Burns Night 2020 

The Roman Baths – Saturday 25th January

Celebrate the legendary poet Robert Burns with an evening of true Scottish tradition, all in the atmospheric setting of the Roman Baths and Pump Room. There’ll be music, Scottish dancing and of course, poetry – along with a traditional four-course Burns Night meal complete with haggis and all the trimmings. 

Gin Masterclass in the Pantry

The Bath Priory – Thursday 30th January 

Love gin? Sample some of the very best from The Botanist, who are bringing their extra-special Islay Dry Gin all the way from Scotland to Bath. Settle yourself in for a relaxed evening in The Pantry at the Bath Priory, where you’ll enjoy an aperitif, three delicious drinks, a selection of nibbles and of course, tasting notes and fascinating information from gin experts.
