15 June 2018

Thinking of heading out for a curry after seeing Bath Rugby play, or fancy a cosy takeaway with friends in your Bath Holiday Rentals home-from-home? We’ve put together a list of the best Indian restaurants in Bath, as well as a couple of fantastic takeaways – so you can find the very best curry in the city.

  • The Mint Room

An Indian restaurant like no other, The Mint Room has won Best Indian at the Bath Good Food Awards a staggering four times. TripAdvisor customers rave about it, and with good reason. The Mint Room serves modern, creative Indian food in a surprisingly stylish and glamorous setting. The restaurant even has a rooftop champagne bar! Every dish on the menu has a fine dining twist, so be prepared to indulge in flavour combinations that you haven’t experienced before.

You’ll find The Mint Room on Lower Bristol Road, just over the river from our spacious and serene Green Park Garden Apartment.

  • Chai Walla

Another top TripAdvisor favourite, Chai Walla is a takeaway with a difference. Unlike other Indian takeaways in Bath, it serves speciality vegetarian street food in a tiny, super colourful takeaway on Monmouth Street – very convenient for those staying in our central Hot Bath apartment.  Prices are extremely reasonable, making it one of the best cheap eats spots in the city. Chai Walla is vegetarian and vegan-friendly, with plenty of gluten-free options too. Along with serving up a great curry, you absolutely have to try the samosas.

  • The Eastern Eye

Locals love this well-established Bengali restaurant on Quiet Street, which has an extremely wide selection of curries on the menu. Although it may seem like one of the most traditional Indian restaurants in Bath, housed as it is in an opulent Georgian building, it has a surprisingly inventive menu. Be adventurous and let the friendly, knowledgeable staff tempt you into trying something completely new.

  • Indian Temptation

One of the first fully vegetarian Indian restaurants in Bath, this High Street eatery (in a great spot overlooking Bath Abbey) offers a full range of amazing veggie and vegan dishes – from North Indian curries to South Indian specialities. It has a full vegan wine list too, so you can match your tipple to your meal. The restaurant also has a takeaway service via Deliveroo in case you don’t fancy going out.

  • Panahar

One of the hidden gems of Bath’s restaurant scene, the tiny, bustling Panahar is well worth seeking out. With an intimate vibe (as it’s so small), this spot is perfect for date night. It’s also a good choice for a decent great value curry, with generous portion sizes and a tasty selection of dishes. It’s BYOB too, so make sure you bring a bottle along if you fancy anything boozy with your meal.

Panahar is on Moorland Road, a small way out of the city centre but close to Oldfield Park Station.
