The last year has been a difficult one for businesses in Bath and all over the country, but the future’s looking bright. There’s a flurry of new shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants opening up in the city, adding to Bath’s thriving shopping and hospitality scene.
So if you’re planning a Bath shopping trip any time soon, here’s our pick of some of the best new businesses to watch out for:
Sustainable leisure brand Bullfrog has been up and running since January 2021, but their new Kingsmead Square store has only just opened. Bullfrog sell all kinds of reusable items, from stainless steel water bottles and coffee cups to eco cork yoga mats. Pop in and see the bright, colourful range of sustainable goodies for yourself.
If you’ve a sweet tooth, you won’t be able to resist popping into the new Candy World sweet shop in the city centre. They have almost every delicious sweet treat imaginable, including popular American and Australian confectionary you can’t find anywhere else – like Hershey’s, Twinkies and much more.
Papaw Cha is bringing their delicious Oolong bubble tea all the way from Yunnan, China to Bath city centre, opening up their first shop outside of their Wales flagship store. Find it right next to Bath Abbey, on Cheap Street.
Flowers by Blomme
Twentyseven, High Street
Opened September 2021, Flowers by Blomme is a gorgeous new florist not far from Bath Abbey. Along with stunning custom flower arrangements, the shop is also home to the Blomme Flower School offering workshops and classes, including upcoming Christmas Wreath Workshops from the end of November.
Twentyseven, High Street
A perfume brand with a “psychological and emotional approach to scent”, Apotheke shares the same space as Flowers by Blomme – a heavenly smelling combination. All perfumes are designed in Berlin and made in Grasse, the centre of the French perfume industry. They’re vegan, cruelty-free and made in small batches to prevent waste.
With a laid-back atmosphere and a menu packed with classic regional Italian dishes, Bosco Bath is the hottest new Neapolitan pizza joint in town. You’ll love the menu, featuring dishes made from fresh seasonal ingredients and specialty foods imported from Italian markets. Better still, it’s right across the road from our gorgeous Milsom Retreat apartment, so you’ll be able to pop in all the time.
Chapter 22 Roots and Records
Bath’s newest record shop offers crate after crate of vinyl to rummage through, along with a small forest of greenery. This unique new shop combines exotic and rare plants with vinyl music, and they even serve coffee to sip while you browse.
Share and Repair
A fabulous and super sustainable addition to Bath city centre, the Share and Repair shop is a volunteer-led hub for all things reuse, repair and recycle. The shop houses a Library of Things, where you can borrow handy tools, DIY equipment and much more instead of buying it new. The shop also plans to host regular Repair Cafes and workshops.
