Here’s our guide to the best flexible and casual membership gyms in Bath:
Fitness First Bath – James Street West
A 10-minute stroll from Bath Spa train station and close to our wonderfully serene Green Park Garden Apartment, Fitness First Bath offers a free 1-day guest pass if you haven’t visited before. Find the gym on James Street West. With facilities for resistance, free weights and more, along with a pool, sauna and spin studio (may be available for an extra cost), Fitness First is extremely well equipped.
Bath Sports and Leisure Centre – North Parade Road
Run by Better, this leisure centre near the river and Bath Rugby Club offers Pay & Play membership at just £6.60 for members of Better facilities nationwide or £10 for non-members – making it perfect for a flying visit to the city. The complex is home to a recently refurbished and fully equipped gym, as well as a pool, fitness studio and even a library. If you’re staying at our Argyle Riverview Flat, you’ll be practically next door.
Anytime Fitness – Henry Street
Even closer to the train station along with Southgate shopping centre is Anytime Fitness, which also offers a free 1-day trial that works perfectly for out-of-towners needing their gym fix. This 24-hour access gym is known for its friendly staff, extensive facilities and convenient parking.
YMCA Bath Gym – Broad Street Place
The YMCA may be a hostel, but it also has a small but well-equipped fitness suite which also happens to be one of the best value pay as you go gyms in Bath. Pay as you go gym use is just £9 per day, while one-hour classes are just £6. It’s also extremely convenient, situated in the heart of the city centre close to both our Haystack and Old Orchard holiday properties.
The Pilates Quarter – Cleveland Place East
Just a short walk from our Camden Crescent period apartment is this dedicated pilates studio, which handily offers a number of offers for casual visitors. For example, you can book a 55-minute private introductory session for £25, or an intensive one off private session for £58. You can even buy a gift voucher for a friend for £25. The Pilates Quarter is perfect for people wanting a more specialist fitness solution, as it is more expensive and one-on-one than other pay as you go gym options in Bath.
