A round-up of the best NYE parties in Bath

17 December 2016

Visiting Bath just in time for New Year’s Eve? You’re in luck, as you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to celebrating the countdown to 2017 in true Bath style. The city is hosting hundreds of weird and wonderful NYE parties, some of which you may even be lucky enough to snap up a ticket for.

Here’s our round-up of the very best:

New Year 2017 with London Gala Orchestra

Expect lavish costumes and spell-binding performances at Forum on St James Parade this NYE, as the London Gala Orchestra puts on a special Viennese Dreams show. Soprano Natasha Day, tenor Andrew Rees and conductor Steve Ellery will be leading the talented 32-piece orchestra through a selection of Viennese classics. The show features pyrotechnics, a champagne lottery and of course, Auld Lang Syne to finish.

The performance takes place in the afternoon, so you’ll have plenty of time to party in the evening.

Great Gatsby New Year’s Eve Party

The Great Gatsby party at Allium, in the Abbey Hotel, is one of the most talked-about events of the season. Guests will be dressed up in true 1920’s style, as will this extraordinary venue. Expect cocktails, dancing and incredible food.

New Year’s Eve Ball at The Pump Room

For many Bath residents, a much-loved annual tradition is the New Year’s Eve Ball at The Roman Baths and Pump Room, one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions. This elegant event, spread across The Pump Room, Terrace, Kingston Room and Victorian Reception Hall, features dancing, drinks, dinner and live entertainment. It nearly always sells out in advance – if you haven’t got a ticket this year, you’d better be quicker in 2017!

NYE party at Igloo

Did you know that Bath has its own ice-themed venue? You’ll find Igloo with its beautiful frosty theme in the Abbey Hotel, which is hosting a number of NYE parties this year. At Igloo, guests can enjoy delicious food, a live DJ and traditional bagpipes to see in 2017.

UV Fancy Dress at The Bath Brew House

Every year, the Bath Brew House on James Street Wests hosts a New Year’s Eve party with a difference. It’s a UV fancy dress party, so deck yourself out in your finest neons and face paint and get ready for cheesy dancefloor hits from DJ Cat Gone Crazy. It’s one of the best parties in Bath and best of all – it’s free entry.

Big Top Party at The Bell Inn

This Walcot Street venue had a hit with its 2015 NYE party, so it’s back again with another exciting event. This year’s theme at The Bell Inn is ‘Circus’, with guests being invited to show up in their best ringmaster, clown and other fancy dress costumes. The night features live bands and a range of guest DJs, including DJ Nathan ‘Ringmaster’ Stardust.
