Property Star Rating

Bath Holiday Rentals specialise in quality properties meaning that all of our properties are 4 and 5 star. However, we don't want you just to take our word for it so we have them inspected by Visit England's independent Quality in Tourism assessors (unless otherwise stated). The properties are inspected annually and our Landlords must maintain their properties to a minimum 4 star rating.

Cleanliness has been shown to be of very high importance and is graded separately and must meet a higher minimum entry level in order for the property to get its star rating. In addition Guests expect consistency in all aspects of the property, meaning that every area should meet or exceed the overall star rating awarded, i.e. all aspects of a 4 star property should be a minimum of 4 star quality standard. Therefore in the assessment 'public areas', 'bedrooms', 'bathrooms' and 'kitchens' are designated as 'critical areas' and the quality of these areas has to be commensurate with the overall grade awarded at the levels below:

Four (Very Good)****

In order for a property to achieve 4 stars it must grade a minimum of 80% on cleanliness and between 75 and 86% in all other areas.

Four ****

In order for a property to get a 4 star gold award it needs an average of all scores/areas to be 84% or more overall, plus a minimum of 80% in the key areas and 85% for cleanliness.

Five (Excellent)*****

In order for a property to achieve 5 stars it must grade a minimum of 90% on cleanliness and between 87-100% in all other areas.

Five *****

This is the highest accolade a property can achieve. In order for a property to get a 5 star gold award it needs an overall score of 91% or above, plus a minimum of 87% in the key areas and 95% for cleanliness.

Factors to consider when renting or letting in Bath

Think about the location. Almost all of our accommodation is specifically chosen to be close to the heart of the city in many of the most sought after addresses. This allows our customers to benefit from being in the most luxurious areas, free of noise and away from the busier parts of the town. However, we certainly have country homes for those of you wanting to get away from city buzz completely.
Consider your budget. Hotel stays are notoriously expensive, and you can often get disturbed and pay for extras you'd neglected to consider. All of our apartments are designed to be ready to go from the second you walk in. We know that self catering apartments can have a bad name, and we spend a lot of our time making sure that ours are at the absolute pinnacle of our market.
Book in advance! Seriously, we know everyone says this, but Bath is exceptionally popular with tourists and business people, if you don't book quite far in advance, you'll be lucky to rent a room anywhere in the town.
